February 23, 2011, ST. LOUIS,(Coal Geology)- Patriot Coal Corporation (NYSE: PCX) has received four distinguished reclamation awards.
- * Guyan Surface Mine – received both the Society of American Foresters Woodlands Award and the Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative State Reforestation Award recognizing the mine’s reforestation of native species of trees and wildlife
- * Logan County Preparation Plant – was awarded the West Virginia Coal Association’s Exemplary Reclamation of Refuse Facilities Award for the reduction of environmental impacts
- * Campbell’s Creek Complex – received the Underground Coal Mine South Award for exceptional reclamation of surface areas of the Campbell’s Creek No. 3 underground mine, presented by the West Virginia Coal Association and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection
