July 22, 2011 (Coal Geology): The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) spends a large amount annually on printing and postage associated with hard copy mailing of compliance guidance (e.g. Program Policy Letters, Program Information Bulletins, and Procedure Instruction Letters). Production cost continues to escalate and is not in keeping with the need to manage budgetary resources carefully. MSHA will discontinue printing and mailing compliance guidance from August 1st, 2011. Information will be available from official MSHA webpage at http://msha.gov.
